I do not currently bill insurance plans directly. I am able to create an invoice that provides a billing code (CPT) and diagnosis code. You can then submit these invoices to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider directly to establish your benefits/learn about reimbursement for out of network providers. This will be provided monthly or quarterly.

Insurance vs private pay

Please review the below information when making decisions about private pay verse utilizing your insurance. It is the clients obligation to check with their insurance policy prior to treatment sessions. The client is responsible to provide payment in full regardless of their insurance if using private pay.

If you are considering using your insurance (pending insurance approval or to request reimbursement) please contact your insurance provider. You may want to inquire about:

  1. If speech therapy in network and/or out of network is reimbursable
    – If you are looking to be reimbursed for out of network (i.e. I do not take your insurance) what information is needed
    – Will all of my bill be covered, a specific percentage, or a set amount
  2. How do you get authorization
  3. How many sessions will be approved and how many/how many minutes a week may be reimbursed
  4. Do I have a deductible?

Private pay allows for different benefits when compared to insurance covering therapy. Some reasons that private pay can be beneficial to you are:

  1. Insurance companies can decide what treatments they will and will not cover
  2. Insurance companies can limit the number of sessions a client can have
  3. Insurance companies can require reauthorization which pauses therapy after session limits are hit.
